After four years of development, the very first Bentley Bentayga today left the Crewe assembly plant in the U.K. Finished in Anthracite, it was handcrafted across 130 hours.

Deliveries will begin in January.

“Bentley Bentayga will be the benchmark against which all other SUVs are measured, defining a new segment – the luxury SUV,” said Wolfgang Dürheimer, Chairman and Chief Executive of Bentley Motors.

Last week, the company announced the Bentayga First Edition , which will have a limited production run of 608 units.

A Bentayga Coupe for Geneva?

As the first copy of the new Bentayga left Crewe, Bentley is rumoured to be working on a coupe variant that could make its debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March, according to Auto Express .

It will be more like a 5-door model with a coupe-like profile than a 3-door body style, mind you. Expect increased performance and a sportier look, as well.
