The F-Series pickup from Ford has spent half its life as a best-seller as it goes into its 60th anniversary. To help celebrate, Ford has recently announced special F-150 and Super-Duty Anniversary models to commemorate the occasion.
Available from this wintertime, the XLT Super Cab and Super Crew models will be available with a 60th anniversary package which adds special two-tone paint, chrome accents, badging, and a serialization plate on the console to help create an exclusive package. The special badges are laser-cut, and the specialized models carry an instrument cluster appliqué which matches it.Total production for the 60th anniversary trucks is set at 7,500 F-150's and 2,500 Super-Duty's. Customers can specify either a 4x4 or 4x2 model with a short or long cargo box, and either of F-150's V8 engines. The selection indicates that Ford is excited to share their special model with customers after a wide variety of needs. Super Duty anniversary models are available with a similarly wide selection of configuration options."The F-Series is more than just the long-running foundation for Ford," said Mike Crowley, Ford Truck and SUV marketing manager. "This truck line-up embodies the values of Ford Motor Company and, in many ways, the values of America. 'Built Ford Tough' is just another way of saying these trucks are built for hard-working, independent Americans." photo: Ford
