The Formula Tour 1600 confirmed that it would be back to the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in June for the Formula 1 ’s Canadian Grand Prix.
As F1 returns after a most noticed absence last year, the Formula 1600 series will be back for the first time since 2007.
This announcement makes the series optimistic about the future as a confirmed participation to such a large and exposure-full event often attracts many new drivers and/or sponsors.
Marcel Lafontaine, driver and Series President, said he expects the series to show up with 40 cars to the Grand Prix of Canada. Drivers will most probably be from Quebec, Ontario, other Atlantic Provinces and the United States, which do not host a Formula 1 race again this year.
