The Quimera AEGT01 GT fully electric race car was recently track tested for the first time at Motorland F1 race track in Spain.
The AEGT racing car is the first competition vehicle of its class to run on 100% electric batteries and engines, with performance similar or superior to conventional internal combustion competition vehicles.
The Spanish company already produces electric scooter, urban wind turbine, elector-solar scooter and the GT car.
The AEGT was put through its first paces by World Touring Car Championship racer Pepe Oriola at the Motorland Aragon track in Spain, where the fully-electrically-powered car will be officially launched next month.
The carbon fibre monocoque chassis, powertrain and prototype developed by Quimera under the supervision of Altran. The maximum power is 700 bhp and max torque is said to be in excess of 1000Nm, the top speed is 300 km/h and the car can accelerate from zero to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds.
The car is powered by three 231 bhp UQM electric motors (made in the USA) that are fed by high power lithium polymer EIG (South Korea) battery packs.
