Functional telemetrics for under $3

By ,

If you like sporty driving, chances are you've probably considered buying a telemetrics system at some point. This type of technology is fairly expensive, which is why few drivers take advantage of it.

Say hello to Zilla, a new iPhone app that calculates vehicle speed using GPS data and g-forces using the accelerator built in the smartphone – all for just $2.99.

The app also generates graphs to let drivers analyze their performance (and brag about it) and even allows them to manage music files.

The similarities with the Nissan GT-R 's readouts are striking. The folks who developed Zilla no doubt were inspired by the Japanese supercar, nicknamed 'Godzilla.'

While we strongly advise against pushing your car to the limit on public roads, using Zilla on the track sounds like a cool idea!
