When you think of the most creative automotive brands in the world, MINI is unquestionably one of the top 3 that come to mind with its unique urban runabouts. And with the Rocketman concept revealed in Geneva, the automaker is once again setting the cat among the pigeons and getting noticed for all the good reasons.

The car’s dimensions are reminiscent of the classic MINI, though slightly longer. The resemblance with the rest of the brand’s lineup is undeniable, but the Rocketman does have a few unique features, such as the centered position of the fog lights and prominent grille.

The roof is one big slab of glass, luminous accents recreating the Union Jack and proudly declaring its origins. When lit, it’s the same white colour as the rear-view mirrors and contrasts nicely with the grey body.

The vehicle is built on a carbon chassis and includes lightweight components, such as the 18-inch wheels. Lightweight obviously rimes with fuel efficiency, and that’s precisely what this MINI is all about. The entire affair was created with the goal of using a power train that burns just 3 litres of fuel per 100 km.

The automaker’s engineers paid particular attention to cabin access and space, and the 3+1 configuration can seat four people. Ingress and egress is made easier by dual-hinge doors that open wide, and the two-piece hatch makes loading stuff in the back a snap. The top part is attached to the roof and opens high, while the bottom part works a bit like a drawer.

The cabin features three ultra light seats that slide forward and back, ensuring optimal comfort, flexibility and stability when drivers decide to unleash their inner racer.
