Geneva 2011: World premiere of the Land Rover Range_e

Year after year, the Geneva Motor Show is one of the stops on the auto show circuit that stages the most world premieres. Land Rover is sticking its oar in for 2011, in the shape of the Range_e plug-in hybrid prototype.

Based on the Range Rover Sport, the all-wheel drive machine is powered by a 3.0-litre, V6, diesel engine coupled with a hybrid system and an 8-speed autobox developed by ZF.

According to the manufacturer, it can travel up to 32 km in electric mode only and reach top speeds of around 193 km/h, and has a range of 1,110 km.

Visitors will also get to clap their eyes on a 5-door coupe variant of the Range Rover Evoque, the Discovery 4 and limited edition Range Rovers, including the Autobiography Ultimate .
