GM's latest ad sparks rage

By ,

In an effort to boost sales, General Motors recently used a bolder, more aggressive marketing approach, but their decision instead sparked rage on campuses across America.

To promote the GM College Discount program, a new advertisement tried to depict riding a bicycle and walking as boring, while driving a Chevrolet, Buick or GMC isn't. What was supposed to be a harmless campaign quickly backfired and alienated many young buyers.

The ''Reality Sucks'' slogan and messages such as ''Stop pedaling... start driving'' aroused anger in environmentally-conscious students, who asked GM to issue a public apology.

Aware of its giant blunder, the automaker expressed regret and began removing ads across the country as it stops the campaign entirely.

We bet GM learned its lesson!
