Sergio Perez clinched victory in the first GP2 race held in the streets of Monaco, second round of the 2010 series.
The Mexican driver crossed the finish line in first place, after he brilliantly defended his position against Venezuelan driver Pastor Maldonado .
Spaniard Dani Clos took third position. Clos started the race from pole position, but was overtook by both Perez and Maldonado at the first corner of Ste Devote.
Jules Bianchi takes fourth position ahead of Alberto Valerio, Giedo Van der Garde and Luiz Razia. Jérôme d'Ambrosio took eighth place, and will enjoy the advantage of starting from pole position for Race 2 on Saturday.
That was quite a tough race for both Barcelona-race winners. Fabio Leimer had a good result in qualifying with the 5th best time" However, the Swiss had a very poor start, and then had to retire in the first lap following an accident at Mirabeau.
Charles Pic, winner of the opening round in Barcelona, finished 11th today in Monaco.
