GT1: Canada to host GT1 race

Canada has been chosen to hold one of the 12 races that appear on the 2010 provisional schedule of the new sports car World Championship GT1 that will kick-off its activities next year.

A spokesperson for the series has confirmed that the July 4th event will be held in Canada but without saying where the race would be held, negotiations are being held with a number of circuits.

The schedule has 12 races and an expected 24 cars should be on the grid with such manufacturers as Aston Martin, Ford, Maserati, Chevrolet, Nissan and Lamborghini.

Final approbation should be announced during the next FIA meeting December 11th.
