Frédéric Makowiecki and Maxime Martin claimed their maiden win in main race with their Ford GT at Ordos, China, after they took victory in qualifying race.
Both drivers, running for Belgian squad Marc VDS Racing, took the win in the qualifying race for the third time this season, but it was the first time they were able to secure first position in a main race this year.
Richard Westbrook and Peter Dumbreck were a threat for Makowieck and Martin during the race, and the pair was in position to take the lead after they pitted, one lap after their rivals. But Westbrook lost time entering the pits behind another car. The Brit finally took second place, ahead of Hoenhadel and Piccini’s Aston DBR9, who closed on to the championship leaders.
Indeed, championship leaders Luhr and Krumm (Nissan GT-R) and second placed duo Winkelhock/Basseng (Lamborghini Murcielago) took only 9th and 8th, respectively.
Next round will be presented in one week, still in China, but in the Shanghai area this time.
