BF Goodrich, Cooper Falken and others
Of course, many other quality light-duty truck tire manufacturers should be mentioned in this guide, including Michelin partner BF Goodrich, whose All Terrain K02 products need no introduction. These light-duty truck and SUV tires can be used both on- and off-road, and are found as original equipment on some popular vehicles like the Ford F-150. They will make good replacement tires on these vehicles.
Cooper is also an American brand known for its affordable tires. The Discoverer SRX on-road line is the one that will fit SUVs and pickup trucks, while the AT3 line will be used for both on-road and moderate trail excursions.
Similarly, there are Falken tires (a brand of Japanese manufacturer Sumitomo produced in New York state), whose WildPeak A/T is original equipment on some pickup trucks like the Jeep Gladiator. WildPeak is a brand to consider for SUVs and light-duty trucks, as are Hankook's Dynapro and Kumho's Road Venture (but in limited distribution).
What about Chinese tires? Once again, although there has been some growth in the quality and reliability of tires coming from China, it is best to wait for them to show more rigor before making a recommendation.
As you may have realized, there are many new and different tires for trucks, SUVs and crossovers. This guide attempts to give you a broad picture of what's most in demand on the market without going into the details of performance or competition-specific off-road tires. And there are many.
If you are interested in one of the tires mentioned in this file, please consult a tire dealer who will give you more details. Often, your expectations and reality may differ.
We would like to thank Stéphane Parenteau of Pneus Premiers Choix in Quebec for his technical assistance, despite the difficulties of the current situation.
