A major competitor to Michelin, U.S. manufacturer Goodyear offers a range of tires of all types at prices similar to those of Michelin or Bridgestone. Its main line is composed of Assurance tires (some of which are made here in Canada) including affordable Max Life versions or the very comfortable ComfortDrive (we have a long experience with Assurance on one of our vehicles and it is very positive).

For fans of performance tires, Goodyear produces Eagle tires (a brand you'll see in auto racing, especially NASCAR), with the recent Exhilarate version being mostly for the summer season.

Goodyear also has other brands in its fold including the legendary Dunlop brand. Marketed as a relatively affordable product, its tires are available for cars under the Dunlop SP Sport name, for SUVs and light trucks under the Grandtrek identification and for sports cars under the SP Sport Maxx name.

Cooper

Just recently, Goodyear completed the purchase of another legendary name in tires, Cooper Tires! Since this brand is "in transition", we will stick to suggesting its Zeon and other all-season tires at very reasonable prices, especially at a major auto parts store.
