Nokian
For those who use their pickup trucks as passenger vehicles, good news: the Nokian Hakkapelliitta R5 is now available. This Finnish product, recognizable by its new, tighter tread blocks, is replacing the R3 line that has proven to be a real hit with its users. The R3 and R5 were created to replace studded tires and the results are convincing. They have also dethroned the Rotiiva AT plus at Nokian.
Nokian has also recently launched a brand-new line of rugged light-duty truck tires, the Outpost, which come in a variety of sizes and are stamped with the little winter symbol making them cold-weather approved.
I've installed a set of these on my personal Jeep TJ and I'm just waiting for winter to be able to write a full review. So far, they've been relatively quiet on the road, barely making a hissing sound, while in the mud and dirt, they provide a grip that's hard to beat.
