High performance models for revised Hummer lineup

By ,

It's a machine of unquestioned prowess through some of the world's roughest terrain. But hummer has evolved over the years from a wartime work-truck into a user-friendly status symbol- leaving intact the capability which has made the brand famous.

Part of this evolution will carry forward for the 2008 model year, as the H2 will carry a refined new interior to contrast the machines exterior ruggedness and brawny looks. It's not only better looking inside, but safer too, with roof-rail curtain airbags included as standard equipment. These are an important part of GM's commitment to occupant safety, and can considerably help protect passengers from injuries in a rollover accident. The roof-rail curtains inflate above the window-line and can stay inflated for extended periods of time compared to conventional airbags- offering protection for the duration of a rollover.Another sure sign the brand is evolving is the addition of its performance designated models. The Hummer H3 Alpha joins the lineup with its 295 horsepower V8 engine available in place of the 242 horsepower five-cylinder currently available as the only powerplant.
