Honda revealed the 2012 CR-V Concept at the Orange County International Auto Show in Anaheim, California. The pictures provided by the company give a pretty good idea of what the production model will look like.

A more aggressive stance, bolder front fascia and deeper sculpting of the body lines contribute to a fresh, modern exterior. The CR-V's signature vertical taillights remain but sport a more three-dimensional look.

Honda also promises an all-new interior with a more accommodating and spacious design. Meanwhile, the engine will burn less fuel, although its official specifications probably won't be released until the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

Still, some recent information hint at a choice of two four-cylinders, including a 2.5-litre unit (201 hp, 177 lb-ft), and a slightly-detuned version of the current 2.4L.

The 2012 Honda CR-V is set to go on sale by the end of the year.
