Hydrogen-powered car-sharing service launches in Munich

By ,

Companies that provide car-sharing services have so far relied on more conventional energy sources, although a growing number offer battery electric models.

Things will change this summer as Germany’s Linde Group prepares to launch BeeZero, the world’s first car-sharing service consisting of hydrogen-powered vehicles exclusively.

We’re talking about a fleet of 50 Hyundai ix35 (Tucson) FCEV models roaming the streets of Munich. The service is app-based, and users won’t even have to refill the hydrogen tank before returning the vehicle.

In Canada, the Hyundai Tucson FCEV is currently available for leasing in the Vancouver area.
