Former Rahal-Letterman driver Jeff Simmons will return to the IndyCar Series this week and will try to qualify for the Indianapolis 500, having agreed to join AJ Foyt Racing as teammate to Darren Manning.Veteran Simmons began the season by returning to the Firestone Indy Lights series. Foyt was always expected to add a second entry alongside Manning's regular car.Champ Car series' veteran Paul Tracy had been mentioned in connection with the vacancy but with today's announcement, it looks increasingly likely he will sit out the race.
