By ,

Esteban Guerrieri (Sam Schmidt Motorsports) earned his first victory in the Firestone Indy Lights Series by winning the David Hobbs 100 at the Milwaukee Mile.

Guerrieri, who won the pole yesterday, led every lap on the oval and led teammate Josef Newgarden across the start-finish line by 5.5012 seconds in becoming the fourth different winner in five races this season.

Esteban Guerrieri also closed the championship points gap on the front-running Newgarden to 13 entering the Sukup 100 at the Iowa Speedway on June 25.

Jorge Goncalvez advanced from the seventh starting position to finish third in the No. 4 Belardi Auto Racing Special -- his first podium and the team's first.

USAC current champion Bryan Clauson, competing in his second Firestone Indy Lights race, finished fourth in the No. 77 Mazda Road to Indy/CURB Records/Sam Schmidt Motorsports car.

Canadian David Ostella was seventh in the No. 16 Global Precast Team Jensen entry while Mikael Grenier did not take part in this week race.
