Indy Lights: A second pole for Esteban Guerrieri

By ,

Sam Schmidt's Esteban Guerrieri took his second pole position within one week at the Iowa Speedway, after earning one at the Milwaukee Mile last weekend. That became his first Firestone Indy Lights victory.

Guerrieri had the better of provisional pole sitter Gustavo Yacaman with a two-lap average speed of 160.787 mph which was good enough for him to earn his fourth Sunoco Pole Award of the season.

Yacaman (159.520 mph), driving the No. 2 TMR-Tuvacol-Xtreme Coil Drilling car, will be making his first front-row start.

Sam Schmidt Motorsports teammates Bryan Clauson (159.434) and Josef Newgarden (159.408), will share Row 2.

Duarte Ferreira (career-best fifth), in the No. 28 Bryan Herta Autosport car, and Victor Carbone, driving the No. 3 Nevoni/Sam Schmidt Motorsports car, will be on the third row.
