Esteban Guerrieri emerged the winner of a thrilling race in the streets of Trois-Rivieres in the race of the Firestone Indy Lights series.
An exciting battle for the lead developed between Esteban Guerrieri and Conor Daily right from the start of the race. Meanwhile, local boy Mikael Grenier slipped by Stefan Wilson to take sixth place.
Guerrieri and Daly ran together out in front, well ahead from the rest of the pack.
On lap 34, Wilson, who'd made great progress, was running just behind Grenier while Yacaman was all alone in fifth place.
On lap 42, rain started to fall on the street circuit, forcing the officials to throw a full-course yellow, allowing the teams to install rain tires.
The cars returned on the track with 14 laps to run in the race. Seconds after the green, when fighting with Guerrieri, Daly lost control of his car, spun and hit the wall. Daly was forced into a costly retirement.
At the following restart, Guerrieri pulled away while Grenier and Wilson fought hard. Wilson slipped inside the car of Grenier but both touched slightly. Grenier had to no choice but to take the escape road where he stalled his engine.
In the last corner of the race, Peter Dempsey tried to pass Guerrieri for victory but he was not along side him and just drove into him. Guerrieri was able to cross the line in first place while Dempsey spun on the wet tarmac, yards from the finish.
Yacaman finished second in front of Josef Newgarden, Stefan Wilson and Dempsey.
