Josef Newgarden started the Firestone Indy Lights race from the pole and dominated all 100 laps to win at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday.
Moments after the green, a first yellow came out on lap 1 after a spin of Newgarden's teammate Bryan Clauson's car exiting Turn 2.
After lap 65 of 100, the leader had put all cars but the No. 7 Lucas Oil entry driven by Trois-Rivieres race winner Esteban Guerrieri a lap down on the one-mile oval. Every other starter was a lap down following the lap 72 restart after Guerrieri's spin in the grass exiting Turn 2.
Newgarden easily captured his fifth victory and increased his Firestone Indy Lights championship advantage over Guerrieri, who finished fifth, to 68 points with three races remaining.
Jorge Goncalvez finished the race in second place ahead of Duarte Ferreira, Gustavo Yacaman and Guerrieri.
