IndyCar: Chevrolet happy with first test

By ,

Chevrolet, along with his partners Team Penske and Ilmor Engineering conducted some in-track test this week at the Putnam Park road course near Indianapolis.

The tests were conducted on the 1.78 mile, 10-turn road course in a Chevy-powered Dallara chassis driven by none other than IndyCar Series’ standout Will Power.

A General Motors official stated that this on-track shakedown was to make sure the car was ready to go, to do its first proper test at Mid-Ohio in the coming weeks, where the engine manufacturer has plans for a more aggressive approach starting at its second test. With the shakedown completed, Power, who will also test the car at Mid-Ohio, says he can't wait to push the limits on the new Dallara-Chevy Indy car.
