IndyCar: Townsend Bell to stand-in for Justin Wilson

By ,

Dreyer & Reinbold has decided to retain the services of veteran driver Townsend Bell to replace injured regular Justin Wilson for the final two races of the IndyCar Series.

Before hiring Bell as a substitute, DRR had called upon Frenchman Simon Pagenaud, Tomas Scheckter and Giorgio Pantano to take over Wilson’s driving duties for either oval and road and street races.

It has been a long time since the 36-year-old American was associated with Dreyer & Reinbold which was in 2008 for a partial campaign. He has also been involved in one-off drives at each season's Indianapolis 500.

The former CART-ChampCar racer will be on the track at Kentucky alongside team-mate Ana Beatriz to further his preparation for the upcoming events at the Kentucky Speedway and the grand finale in Las Vegas.
