IndyCar: Tristan Vautier to test an IndyCar

By ,

This season's Indy Lights champion Tristan Vautier will be at Sebring on December 13th to test a Schmidt Hamilton IndyCar for the first time.

Vautier, who was already driving for Schmidt’s squad in Indy Lights, claimed the title after having won the Star Mazda title in 2011.

Schmidt Hamilton has already confirmed that another Frenchman, Simon Pagenaud would be back and that it is looking at the possibility of putting a second car on the grid for the upcoming season.

Tristan Vautier has already some funding and he can also count on his prize for taking the Indy Lights championship.

As we stated, Rubens Barrichello was initially linked with Schmidt Hamilton but difficulties in trying to find enough sponsors as well as offers he is considering to race in Brazil makes the association more and more difficult.
