Interested in an Alias? ZAP is taking orders!

ZAP is one of the most famous automakers in the world and a pioneer in the electric car industry. The manufacturer has just announced that they are now taking orders for the Alias, their three-wheel electric car , with a US$1,000 deposit. The ZAP Alias will be available at the end of 2009.
The Alias's revised sales prices remains under US$35,000. The first technical specs were considerably different than what the manufacturer is currently offering. The Alias's spec sheet mentions an electric engine mounted over the front wheels. The engine runs at a rated voltage of 216 V and produces 57 hp and 55 ft-lb of torque.The vehicle weighs 558 kilos and has a 160-kilometre operating range. It's homologated as a motorcycle but boasts the safety features of a car. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h.
