Gareth Roberts, Craig Breen’s co-driver, has been killed in an accident while competing the Targa Florio aboard a Peugeot 207 S2000.
The accident occurred in the eight stage of the fifth round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in Sicily. The car hit the guardrail on a left hand curve while standing in sixth position. 24-year-old Roberts was killed, while his driver was unhurt in the accident.
The event was stopped, with Skoda driver Jan Kopecky declared the winner.
