IRC: Juho Hanninen wins in Canarias

Defending Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion Juho Hanninen has moved to the top of the IRC drivers’ standings with a sensational victory on a thrilling Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Ingles.

Third on Saturday morning, Juho Hanninen clinches his first victory on asphalt. His teammate Jan Kopecky, who was leading the rally since the beginning is second, 1.5 second behind. Thierry Neuville (Peugeot) finishes third.

The Skoda winner says: "It has been a good fight from the first to the last stage."

Another Skoda driver, Freddy Loix, is fourth, and withouth Thierry Neuville (Peugeot) could have complete a full Skoda podium.

Juhö Hanninen takes the lead of the championship to Bryan Bouffier, Monte-Carlo rally winner, who finished seventh.

With 33 points, the Finn now leads with two points ahead of the French driver and three to Freddy Loix, third in the standings.
