IRL: Alex Tagliani still up and down

By ,

Despite finishing a distant 22nd at the end of Friday's lone practice session, Alex Tagliani (FAZZT Racing) is still optimistic about his chances for the upcoming IndyCar race at Mid-Ohio.

Tagliani finished with more than 0.90 seconds behind the fastest driver of the day, Graham Rahal (Newman-Haas Racing), but still believes that the team had a pretty good day.

"We made the car progressed at the end of the day," declared Tagliani. "I believe that our final position is way off where the car should actually be and I think that we can proove that tomorrow during qualifying."

Will Power (Penske Racing) finished second in front of his teammate Helio Castroneves while Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport) and the third Penske man, Ryan Briscoe, completed the top 5.

The 27 drivers will be back on Saturday morning for the last testing session before they take the track for the ultimate qualifying session in the afternoon.
