Reigning IRL series' champion Dario Franchitti received bad news today as Target Chip Ganassi Racing have decided to scale down their NASCAR Sprint Cup operation to only two cars. The Scots won't be part of the next Sprint Cup race to be held this weekend in Daytona for the Coke-Zero 400.Members of the No 40 car have been laid off following a disappointing first half of the season where they struggled to get a major sponsor and were running on race-by-race deals with different companies.As of today, the team would not confirm whether the former IndyCar driver would continue to drive for them in the Nationwide Series.
