IRL: It's testing time for the IndyCar series

There will be some action on the track this week as IZOD IndyCar series’ teams and drivers will be testing at venues that will play host to upcoming events.

For Newman-Haas Racing, Hideki Mutoh, who has finished third and second the past two years at the Iowa Speedway, will be on the .875-mile oval to try out settings for the upcoming race that will be run there.

Along with Mutoh, Team Penske's Helio Castroneves and Will Power will also be on hand on the circuit that will play host to the fourth Iowa Corn Indy 250 on June 20.

On the other hand, Ryan Briscoe will test at the 1.5-mile Chicagoland Speedway oval as part of a Firestone tire test.

But most of the action will take place at Watkins Glen International on Wednesday June 9 where 11 drivers will gather to test on the 3.4-mile natural-terrain circuit.

That list includes Adam Carroll, who will make his IZOD IndyCar Series debut at The Glen July 2-4 with Andretti Autosport.

The list of attendee will also include; Tony Kanaan (Andretti Autosport), Scott Dixon and Dario Franchitti (Ganassi Racing), E.J. Viso, Mario Moraes and Takuma Sato (KV Racing), Alex Lloyd and Milka Duno (Dale Coyne Racing), Alex Tagliani (FAZZT) and Justin Wilson (Dreyer & Reinbold).
