IRL: Milwaukee back on the IndyCar schedule

By ,

One of the classic one-mile ovals, The Milwaukee Mile, will be back on the IndyCar Series calendar next year and an official announcement is expected this coming Friday.

Milwaukee, which had been the place where the series used to regroup after the Indianapolis Speedway, had lost his slot after some financial difficulties encountered earlier this year.

The Indy Racing League has already announced that next year's calendar will include a new street race in Baltimore and a return for the one-mile oval at Loudon, NH last used for top-level single seaters in 1998.

Las Vegas Motor Speedway has been pushing hard for a date, while there has also been rumours of a return for the Fontana oval.

The Miami-Homestead, Kansas and Chicagoland ovals have been tipped to lose their dates as part of the reshuffle.
