IRL: Ryan Hunter-Reay with Andretti Autosport

By ,

As Auto123.com had already revealed some weeks ago, Andretti Autosport has officially announced today that American Ryan Hunter-Reay will be part of its 2010 driver’s line-up but on a partial status for the time being.

Backing from Phillips-Van Heusen and its IZOD brand, which became the title sponsor for the IndyCar Series in 2010, helped Hunter-Reay secure his ride.

For now, the American will take part in the upcoming Indianapolis 500 as well as a certain number of events before and after the May classic, although the exact number as yet to be to be decided.

Hunter-Reay, who drove for Vision and Foyt in 2009, has been the “poster boy” for IZOD since last year and is quite excited about the prospects for the coming year.

"Joining a team of Andretti Autosport's caliber has been my goal for the entire 16 years of my racing career. This is the opportunity of a lifetime and I am ready to give 120 percent to the programme," he vowed.
