The 29-year old has nonetheless earned a full-time drive with Penske Racing for 2010 and the private session at Sebring marked his return to the cockpit following his recovery.

Last season, Power was initially signed by Penske to replace Helio Castroneves who was in court on tax evasion charges.

Following the return of the Brazilian, Power was kept on for a part-time programme with Penske and captured his first IndyCar Series win at Edmonton.
