Former Champ Car teams and drivers can be optimistic about their weekend in St. Petersburg as Newman-Haas-Lanigan Racing's Justin Wilson completed the first practice session on top over the 26 drivers present. Not far behind, in fifth, was his teammate Graham Rahal who had is first official outing in the IRL after missing out the Homestead race.Bruno Junquiera completed the practice in tenth for Dale-Coyne as Franck Perera of Conquest and Oriol Servia from KV Racing Technology took respectively 12th and 14th spot.
