The most extreme Jaguar ever is coming soon! Up to 600 hp on tap

Not satisfied with the 575-hp F-Type SVR , Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) unit is announcing a new performance model for the street that’ll be even more powerful and formidable.

In fact, with a specially tuned version of the brand’s 5.0L supercharged V8 producing 600 PS (592 hp), the upcoming Jaguar XE SV Project 8 will become the most potent road-legal Jaguar in history, offering supercar performance and dynamics in a 4-door compact luxury sedan body.

A prototype featuring unique camouflage by SVO Design is now being tested at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany.

Developed as the second Collector’s Edition sports car by SVO (following the successful launch of the F-TYPE Project 7 in 2014), the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 will be limited to just 300 hand-made cars worldwide when it goes on sale in 2018. Its official introduction will take place on June 28th, exactly two weeks after the debut of the Jaguar XF Sportbrake wagon.

“The time is right for SVO to produce the most extreme performance road car in the history of Jaguar. The SVO team is possessed by the spirit of performance and committed to creating the most thrilling driving experience imaginable,” said John Edwards, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations. “Our clients worldwide were thrilled by the F-TYPE Project 7. The new XE SV Project 8 takes aerodynamics and performance engineering to another level—it is conceived for enthusiasts and the most discerning collectors. The price for such an extreme performance sports car available in strictly limited numbers will reflect that.”
