Pictures of the new Jaguar XF Sportbrake have hit the Internet a few days before the model's world premiere at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Based on the XF sedan, the XF Sportbrake looks to become the most versatile Jaguar ever.

The silver signature line runs the length of the car, while the C-pillars are finished in gloss black. Meanwhile, the slim taillights flow into a chrome cross-member that highlights the back.

The trunk can swallow up to 550 litres of cargo with the rear seats up – and that includes handy compartments on each side. With the seats folded, total capacity rises to 1,675 litres.

For the Sportbrake, a new rear air suspension was developed that allows automatic load-levelling without sacrificing driving dynamics. Under the hood is a 2.2L 4-cylinder engine or a twin-turbo 3.0L 6-cylinder. Both run on diesel.

Prices and specifications will be officially announced closer to the Jaguar XF Sportbrake's market release date, set in the third quarter of 2012. No word yet on its availability in Canada.
