Japanese Pricing announced on Nissan's GT-R

By ,

According to a report from Reuters, Nissan Motor Company yesterday announced Japanese pricing for its upcoming GT-R performance car. Set to be unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show next month, previous concept versions of the GT-R were called the Skyline GT-R.Priced at 7.8 million yen or $68,010, the GT-R will be the second most expensive machine in Nissan's lineup, behind the President sedan. This upper-tier pricing approach demonstrates a commitment by Nissan to build a car of exceptional performance that will compete on the world stage.
Nissan is Japan's third largest automaker, and hopes that the iconic GT-R will help to boost sales of its higher-volume products and increase brand awareness and image. Nissan's sales have trailed behind those of its rivals Toyota and Honda- neither of whom yet have an extreme performance car like the GT-R available. Though pricing has been announced, specific details like engine type and horsepower specifications have yet to be released. Nissan has, however, announced that they've set up over 150 specialized service locations to work on GT-R models for their customers. Expect Nissan's GT-R to go on sale in North America next year. photo: Nissan
