Jeep introduces the world's most powerful 4x4

1:00 PM - Jeep introduces the Hurricane concept, which is said to be the world's most powerful 4x4 on earth. The Hurricane is powered by not one, but two 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engines; one in front, and one in back. Each engine develops 335 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque. The result? A 670-hp 4x4 vehicle, which should accelerate from 0-96 km/h (0-60 mph) in less than 5 seconds. The engines also feature Multi-displacement technology, which means the vehicle can run on a various number of cylinders to reduce fuel consumption. One notable feature is its four-wheel-steering system, which can make the vehicle turn on a dime: for example, the front right and rear left wheels turn backwards, while the front left and rear right wheels turn forwards; the Hurricane can spin around on itself.Other features include split-solid front and rear axles, dual transfer cases, a carbon-fiber body, and a 14-inch ground clearance, which is 3 times better than the TJ Rubicon, currently the vehicle with the highest clearance on the market.Pictures by Ray Watson of Auto123 are available in the PHOTO GALLERY .
