Famous for its Formula 1 Grand-Prix and its Rally, Monaco also knows how to give karting its just deserts by hosting the now traditional Monaco Kart Cup which gathers a very high-quality field both in the KF3 category (Juniors) and in KZ2.
And to add character to this event, the circuit implemented for the occasion uses part of the track frequented in May by F1 cars, in particular the "S" of the Swimming Pool and the Rascasse corner.
After an initially unsuccessful attempt at giving the start under the rain and as a pile-up left many karts out of the track or obstructing it, the FK3 final had to be postponed by one hour.
Although it is unusual, a local driver, Charles Leclerc, finished first and was handed the CIK-FIA Monaco Kart Cup in the KF3 category.
