Hot on the heels of its full-size electric flagship , Land Rover has revealed its second battery-electric model: the 2027 Range Rover Sport Electric. Built on the flexible MLA-Flex platform alongside its internal-combustion and plug-in hybrid siblings at JLR’s Solihull plant in the UK, the zero-emissions SUV opts for subtle, stealth-luxury styling rather than a radical design departure.
Design of the 2027 Range Rover Sport Electric
Visually, the Sport Electric mirrors the standard model, relying on aero-optimized front grilles and low-drag alloy wheels to minimize air resistance and maximize range (JLR estimates roughly 16 km of added range at highway speeds).

The new model’s global lineup consists of the Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE, Autobiography, and First Edition trims, the latter finished in Zadar Grey with Satin Wrap, a black contrast roof and 22-inch alloy wheels.
Powertrain of the 2027 Range Rover Sport Electric
The Range Rover Sport Electric packs a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup delivering 542 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. Those numbers make it the most torque-rich Range Rover ever produced, surpassing even the twin-turbo V8-powered SV. Thanks to its smaller proportions, it rockets from 0 to 96 km/h (60 mph) in 4.3 seconds.
Engineers also recalibrated the Intelligent Traction Management, air suspension and Adaptive Dynamics 2 systems, while throttle tuning allows motor torque to ramp up 50 percent faster than in the full-size electric model.
Dynamic chassis upgrades drop the centre of gravity by 2.9 inches compared to the plug-in hybrid, while increasing torsional rigidity by 61 percent.
Despite its performance focus, the Sport EV retains signature off-road capability, boasting a 900 mm (35.4-inch) water-wading depth and the ability to scale 45-degree inclines. To enhance driver engagement, engineers introduced a bespoke synthetic acoustic signature that changes across drive modes.
Energy comes from a massive 118.5-kWh lithium-ion battery operating on an 800-volt architecture. Range Rover estimates a real-world driving range of around 536 km on the EPA measure (or up to 609 km on the European WLTP cycle). Connected to a high-output DC fast charger, the 800V system replenishes the battery from 10 to 80 percent in roughly 22 minutes, adding up to 220 km of range in just 10 minutes.
Order books are now open internationally, with Canadian pricing and market availability expected to be announced shortly.
