Le Mans: Revolutionary DeltaWing sportscar progressing well

After their project for a new IndyCar has failed, the engineers of DeltaWing modified their prototype to turn it into a sportscar and race at Le Mans next season.

The revolutionary race car has already secured a place on next year's 24 Hours of Le Mans grid, winning the 56th slot reserved by the ACO for advanced technology entries.

The LMP1 sportscar remains on course for a first track test before the end of the year under the guidance of two-time American Le Mans team champions Highcroft Racing and U.S. racing legend Dan Gurney.

Computer simulations suggest that the DeltaWing will be capable to produce extreme performance with half the weight and horsepower of a traditional racing car.
