Lexus presents the all-wheel-drive LS 460 and LS 460 L in Moscow

Making the most of the explosion of the Russian market, Lexus presented its fourth all-wheel-drive sedan at the Moscow Motor Show this week. Following the success of the IS 250 AWD , the GS 350 AWD and the LS 600h L , the introduction of the all-wheel-drive LS 460 and LS 460 L was the next step for the manufacturer.
The all-wheel-drive system with central TORSEN limited slip differential is virtually identical to that available on the LS 600h L. The addition of the drive train allows for the integration of a number of new standard features, including the adaptive variable air suspension (AVS). This computer-controlled feature adjusts the damping to maximize comfort and handling, especially when the all-wheel-drive system is in use. The steering is equipped with the variable gear ratio system (VGRS). Selected according to speed, it optimizes precision and stability. Handling has also been improved thanks to the integration of the VDIM system that intervenes in difficult conditions. Both versions are equipped with 18-inch wheels shod in all-season tires. Standard equipment will also include a half-leather, half-wood steering wheel as well as a rear-window sun visor, which are still optional on regular versions. The new 2009 Lexus LS 460 AWD and LS 460 L AWD will be available in Canada this fall. photo: Toyota
