Following close on the heels of its updated RX, Lexus will show a new concept at the New York International Auto Show on Wednesday, April 16th.
The HPX, which stands for High-Performance Crossover, is intended "to introduce a new trend in sport utility vehicle design," according to a recent Lexus press release.
The all-wheel drive Lexus reportedly combines "sport sedan performance and innovative luxury" with the versatility of an SUV, all in a stylish, sport-oriented package.

The luxury brand, rated highest in a variety of J.D. Power surveys, is said to be determined to stretch its performance wings to lure in potential customers, recently targeted aggressively by rival Infiniti who just passed Lexus in Canada for premium sales.
Other vehicles in the Lexus expected price range, or lower, that claim similar attributes are Infiniti's FX45, Cadillac's upcoming SRX and the Chrysler Pacifica, to name only a few.
The crossover segment is quickly becoming one of the most heated verticals in the automotive field.
