Los Angeles 2011: 2012 Jaguar XKR-S Convertible waves to the crowd

The Los Angeles Auto show hosted the world premier of the Jaguar XKR-S Convertible, a car described by the brand’s Global Director, Adrian Hallmark, as a the “pinnacle of performance and glamour in motoring.”

The big cat’s heart beats to the rhythm of a 5.0L supercharged V8 that churns out 542 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque deployed to the rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission and an active differential.

With a dry weight of 3,968 lbs (1,800 kg), the Jaguar XKR-S Convertible can bound from 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds en route to a top speed of 300 km/h.

In terms of styling, the XKR-S stands out with its rear wing and convertible soft top that folds into the trunk in 18 seconds flat. Buyers will have the choice of six body and roof colours.
