Lower MSRPs for 2009 Mazda6; price drops on other models

For 2009, several Mazda models will benefit from lower manufacturer suggested retail prices (MSRP). These reductions, ranging from $800 to $3,200, are attributable to the strength of the Canadian dollar.The automaker's best-selling car, the Mazda3 , offers interesting savings. The MSRP of the sedan, hatchback and MAZDASPEED versions has been slashed by $2,000 on all trim levels. The Mazda3 GX sedan will now start at $14,895, while the MAZDASPEED3 will retail for $29,360.
2009 Mazda6
The CX-7 crossover gets a price cut of $2,100, meaning the entry-level GS model will now cost $29,995. As for its big brother, the CX-9 , the 2009 MSRP starts at $36,795, a reduction of $3,200 from the 2008 model. The top-of-the-line GT model is $2,430 cheaper at $44,395.Last but not least, the completely-redesigned 2009 Mazda6 will arrive this summer with a $22,495 MSRP for the 4-cylinder GS model. That's $2,000 less than the 2008 model. Meanwhile, the Mazda6 GT with 4-cylinder engine carries a 2009 MSRP of $27,395, which represents a reduction of $3,000. Six-cylinder models are comparably priced with 2008 models but have a more powerful engine and a new 6-speed automatic transmission.Prices for the 2009 Mazda5, B-Series, RX-8 and MX-5 will be announced at a later date, though you can expect another round of price reductions. photo: Mazda
