Mazda6 Sedan Sports Highest Ever Mazda IQS Rating at Launch
J.D. Power and Associated just awarded the Mazda Miata 2-seat sports car and the compact B-Series pickup truck the highest initial quality title based on their latest Initial Quality Study. The result was determined by the models fewest problems per 100 vehicles in their respective categories, as reported by car owners within the first 90 days of ownership.

On the subject John Mendel, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Mazda stated that, "We're proud that our customers have recognized the quality that Mazda builds into every one of our vehicles. Today's cars and trucks are the very best the world has ever seen, and the quality gap between brands will continue to shrink."

The Mazda6 sports sedan, which was released last November, was also given top marks. The all-new sedan has been tearing up the sales charts due to strong performance, attractive styling and good perceived quality. It looks as though Mazda6 customers have made a good bet as the car registered the Highest Initial Quality rating out of any Mazda vehicle in its launch year; it even managed to upset its competitors which have customarily posted higher IQS ratings.
Mazda as a whole increased their Initial Quality Study ratings by 21 points.
