MINI revealed the details and first images of its latest creation, the MINI INSPIRED BY GOODWOOD. The English automaker teamed up with Rolls-Royce (whose head office is in Goodwood, UK) to create a high-luxury special edition of the Cooper, of which only 1,000 units are to be produced.
Judging from the cabin, this is one sumptuous MINI indeed. The interior is dominated by a tan hue normally reserved exclusively for Rolls-Royces, set off by black leather trim, namely on the steering wheel and top part of the dash.
Said dash features a walnut burl finish that, together with a Rolls-Royce sourced speedometer and rpm counters, simply radiates prestige.
From the outside, the car sports front and rear skirts identical to those of the Cooper S but the hood of the Cooper D. Black, 17-inch, multi-spoke wheels round out the list of stylish new elements.
The MINI GOODWOOD calls on the Cooper S’s turbocharged, four-cylinder mill generating 181 hp and 177 ft-lb of torque. It will be mated to a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional six-speed autobox.
Deliveries of the Oxford-built model should start in the spring of 2012.
