We were first introduced to the 2-door Countryman-esque MINI Paceman at the Detroit Auto Show in January of this year. Since then, we've all been waiting with baited breath (don't lie, you have too) to hear news about the 3-door version.
Well, MINI made it official with patent images that conclude MINIs plans to move forward with the 3-door Countryman. The patent images don't seem to stray that much from the concept that was first revealed just 6 short months ago, and that's fine with us too. Based largely on the Countryman, the Paceman really is just a 3-door version of the crossover with a more severely rear-slopping roofline.
With the MINI Coupe coming up sooner rather than later, and the Countryman already a big hit, it seems the next few years will be nothing short of exciting for MINI and those who love the brand.
