MINI's model range to double

By ,

MINI now offers five unique models after the addition of the all-new Coupe, but its plan is to double that number by the next decade.

U.S. brand CEO Jim McDowell, who spoke at the press introduction of the Coupe in Nashville, Tennessee last week, indicated that the MINI family could welcome another five members within 10 years.

We already know that a production version of both the Paceman Concept – in essence, a two-door Countryman – and the Rocketman Concept will hit the market. Mystery still surrounds the other three, but we bet the automaker has a few surprises in store for us in the coming months.

Do you think such an expansion will backfire?
